FAQ
Common
Are the products manufactured in Vietnam made using the same production methods and quality standards as those manufactured in Japan?
We manufacture our products using the same production processes and quality control standards as in Japan. However, thickness, dimensions, and certain specifications are tailored to suit Vietnamese culture and practices.
In what ways are Yoshino’s products superior compared to those of other manufacturers?
Not only our Moisture Boards, but even our Regular Boards contain anti-mold agents. High dimensional accuracy is also a key feature of Yoshino’s products.
Do gypsum boards have soundproofing or sound insulation properties?
Gypsum boards provide soundproofing and sound insulation, helping to create a quiet and comfortable space. Specific installation techniques are required for enhanced sound insulation. Please contact Yoshino staff for further details.
Do gypsum boards provide thermal insulation?
Gypsum boards have low thermal conductivity, offering thermal insulation benefits. Compared to other building materials such as plastic boards, gypsum boards are more effective in blocking external heat and improving air conditioning efficiency.
When Yoshino’s products were imported, they were perceived as heavy and difficult to bend. How do the current products compare?
Compared to the imported versions, our current boards are much lighter and more flexible. We have enhanced the workability of the boards - making them lighter and easier to bend - without compromising their original quality and performance. We invite you to experience the difference.
What functions do gypsum boards have in regulating indoor air quality?
Gypsum boards possess humidity control (moisture absorption and release) functionality. When humidity is high, they absorb moisture; when humidity is low, they release it—helping to maintain a stable indoor humidity level.
Regular Board
Does the Regular Board contain glass fibers?
The Regular Board does not contain glass fibers. Only the Fire Resistance Board includes glass fiber.
Moisture Board
In what types of locations is the Moisture Board typically used?
The Moisture Board has a special waterproof treatment and is recommended for use on ceilings and walls in areas with high humidity and the potential for occasional splashes, such as kitchens, washrooms, and toilets.
Hi-clean Board
How long does the Hi-clean Board maintain its performance in decomposing harmful chemical substances?
The effective duration varies depending on the amount of harmful chemical substances (such as formaldehyde) in the environment. Based on calculations, the effect can last for over five years in some cases (this is not a guaranteed value). The absorbed harmful substances are decomposed into harmless compounds inside the Hi-clean Board and are therefore not re-released into the air.
Does the Hi-clean Board lose its ability to decompose harmful substances if kept in storage for a long period?
The decomposition agent used for harmful substances is stable, so its performance does not degrade even after long periods of storage.
Is there any certification confirming the air-purifying feature integrated in the Hi-clean board?
We have obtained a Technical Evaluation Certificate from the Building Center of Japan (BCJ). Our technology has been recognized for significantly reducing harmful chemicals and environmental impact compared to standard gypsum boards.
Is there a certificate that proves the Hi-clean Board’s ability to decompose harmful chemical substances?
When harmful substances build up at high concentrations in the space behind walls or ceilings, they may seep back into the room. The Hi-clean Board helps prevent this and reduces the indoor concentration of harmful chemicals. It also absorbs and decomposes pollutants released from furniture or other sources, contributing to a safer and more comfortable indoor environment. However, depending on the type of wallpaper or paint used, direct absorption may be limited. Therefore, we recommend using breathable finishing materials whenever possible.
Both the Hi-clean Board and the Fire Resistance Board use pink-colored liner paper. Is there a way to distinguish between them at construction sites?
The product name (e.g., Hi-clean Board, Fire Resistance Board) is printed on the back of the board, allowing you to distinguish between them at construction sites.
Aside from the ability to decompose harmful chemical substances, are there any other differences in quality or performance between the Hi-clean Board and the Regular Board?
The strength, fire resistance, dimensional stability, and ease of installation are the same as those of the Regular Board.
Fire Resistance Board
Do you manufacture and sell gypsum boards specifically designed to improve fire resistance?
Yes, we manufacture and sell “ Fire Resistance Boards,” which are specially developed to enhance fire resistance, available in 9.5mm, 12.7mm, and 15.9mm thicknesses.
